He was granted conditional bail to appear in Mclean Local Court on 12 December 2017.
Coffs Clarence crime manager, Detective Inspector Darren Jameson states that the find of a high powered military style machine gun with cannabis highlights the link between cannabis and violence again within our communities.
"We know that cannabis kills and destroys lives, we know that drivers under the affects of cannabis have killed people, we know young people using cannabis are prone to crime and violence on our streets, and we know that those that mix drugs and alcohol are contributors to alcohol and drug related violence" Det Insp. Jameson said.
"Here we have a strong link between cannabis and dangerous prohibited weapons here locally, it concerns me that there are some in the community despite the strong evidence of the dangers of cannabis, still champion it as nothing but harmless, which is just wrong", he said.
Det Insp Jameson said that they will continue to keep their focus on weeding out the drug from the community, "our kids deserve better", he said.
