UPDATE: Brock Wall has been sentenced over the brutal murder of his pregnant partner in Varsity Lakes.
He faced Brisbane Supreme Court on Monday morning, and was sentenced to serve life behind bars for killing 34-year-old Fabiana Palhares with a tomahawk in 2015.
He was also handed another life sentence for the murder of the unborn baby inside her.
EARLIER: A Gold Coast man who pleaded guilty to killing his pregnant partner with a Tomahawk in 2015 is due to be sentenced in the Brisbane Supreme Court today.
Brock Wall pleaded guilty to murdering 34-year-old Fabiana Palhares in a domestic violence incident at Varsity Lakes.
He is also set to be sentenced for unlawful assault of a pregnant woman, a charge that was laid two days after he was accused of her murder when police discovered she was 10 weeks' pregnant.
Fabiana's brother is expected to be at the sentencing after flying in from Brazil.
