Police called to Bakers Creek for two cars on fire. The Ford ranger and Toyota Hilux found on Cowleys Road around 3pm on Monday. The cars were significantly damaged It's being treated as suspicious and if anyone has any information they are asked to call Mackay Police. 

A man has allegedly stolen a turn-table in Mount Pleasant. The man stealing the bear brand table from a shop on Heaths Road while staff were distracted. He was spotted leaving the area in a ford courier ute with a trailer hauling a ride on mower. If you have any information contact crime stoppers

Whitsunday Coast Airport expansions to attract international flights. A fifteen million dollar project to get under way next month. Paynter Dixon Queensland receiving the tender from Council for stage one yesterday. Works on the first stage are predicted to wrap up by November

The Mackay Regional Council is eager to find locals with a passion for the town to help re-invent public spaces. Grants are now available for the Activate My Place Program, with applications closing on April 30. It comes after a visit from Melbourne-based placemaker Gilbert Rochecouste who inspected Mackay's empty laneways and shops. He says the town has plenty to offer.
