Police have made a breakthrough while investigating an alleged heroin racket operating in Wallsend.
Officers from Strike Force Sleepy travelled from Newcastle to Wahroonga in Sydney yesterday, before arresting a 44-year-old woman.
It's alleged heroin was discovered hidden in the woman's underwear following a subsequent search with a suspected street value of $12,000 dollars.
She's been charged and refused bail.
Taskforce members then recovered cannabis, cash, drug paraphernalia and a mobile phone after a search warrant was executed at a unit in Cardiff Road, Wallsend at around 2:20am this morning.
