Regional Express Airlines have announced a community fare scheme and more flights for Griffith NSW, striking a new partnership between the airline and Griffith City Council.
But the deal harshly affects Mildura travelers.
The airline has implemented an additional one return flight every weekday between Griffith and Sydney, axing the Mildura to Sydney route.
In a released statement, the airline says the decision to exit the Mildura to Sydney Route is the result of increased airport charges imposed by Mildura Airport and the commencement of the new partnership.
The aircraft, flight crew and Sydney airport slots will be redeployed to the Griffith and Sydney routes.
The changes will create a new flight link between Griffith and Broken Hill.
