Mildura Rural City Council has continued to show support for White Ribbon Australia, with two staff announced as official Advocates in Victoria.
Advocates include female representatives of White Ribbon who promote gender equality, respectful relationships and the engagement of men to ensure every woman can live safely.
Council's General Manager of Development Mandy Whelan and Organisational Development Manager Kate McMillan have been named as official advocates.
The White Ribbon Advocate Program runs for two years - with Advocates needing to meet key milestones under three streams - Educate, Engage, and Act.
The two locals have joined 18 others from across Victoria, looking to use their spheres of influence and professional network to actively engage men within Council and the general community to achieve the social change needed to end men's violence against women.
