Sydney's main stadiums will be knocked down and rebuilt at a price of $2.3 billion dollars.
The original cost estimate was $1.6 billion, but New South Wales cabinet has signed off on the plan.
It's understood Allianz Stadium at Moore Park will be the first to go at the end of next year, with a revamped 45,000 seat stadium to reopen in 2020 at the earliest.
ANZ will then be bulldozed after the 2019 NRL decider with a 75-thousand seat rectangular stadium taking its place.
The good news that the plan is set to lock in the NRL grand final here in Sydney for the next 25 years.
But it's also going to throw the home and away seasons of plenty of teams out of whack.
