Jezzine Barracks is set to go barking mad this Sunday for Townsville City Council’s annual Pet Expo. Pet owners will be spoilt for choice as the Small Paws Sprint returns where dogs under 30cm will race for the title of Small Paws Sprint Champion. While the Queensland Correctional Service’s Dog Squad will be in full force with three demonstrations throughout the day.
The free annual event – from 9am to 3pm – will have over 60 pet-related stalls including vets, breeders, local businesses from groomers and obedience schools to pet accessories and adoption organisations. Council will also be running free microchipping at the Pet Expo – with savings of up to $90 per animal.
Community Health and Environment Committee Chair Councillor Ann-Maree Greaney said the event was a fantastic opportunity for pet owners to bring their furry friends to mingle with like-minded animal lovers. “Entry is free and all pets are welcome – no matter how big or small.”
