Craig Lowndes Reveals What Almost Brought His Bathurst Drive Unstuck

Retiring Supercars legend Craig Lowndes stunned the motor racing world when he powered home at Mt Panorama on Sunday to claim his seventh Bathurst crown.

Lowndes wore down race leader Dave Reynolds - who succumbed to exhaustion, cramp and a penalty with 26 laps to go - allowing the 888 car to pass him and cruise home unopposed in a fairy tale for Lowndsey and a nightmare for Reynolds.

On The Big Breakfast, the ever humble 44-year-old spoke of his sadness for Reynolds, but also revealed for the first time the dramas going on inside his own car that could very well have ended his race prematurely too.

Listen below:

Lowndes also opened up to Marto, Robin and the Moonman about whether he was having second thoughts about retirement, his plans for next year and his love for Moonman's dog Rupert!
