In the next chapter of the concussion saga, Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess has been the victim of an awkward bump and was taken from the field once the club doctor saw footage of the incident.
Despite the contact occurring before halftime and the advantage of the half-time break to recover, Burgess has failed the concussion test and will not return.
This comes after a week of headlines for the NRL regarding the handling of concussion, with three clubs being fined for failing to take their players from the field.
"Apparently he passed every test but failed the last one, and that's why he won't return," Triple M's Brent Read said.
"I still back the independent doctor," Triple M's Paul Gallen said, referring to talk that independent doctors should be brought in to make the assessment.
