It's been reported that Melbourne have been having some trouble keeping their team together, following the loss of Jordan McLean, Tohu Harris and Kevin Proctor.
However, Triple M and Fox Sports' James Hooper has said that while the recently-reported loss of Jordan McLean to the Cowboys is causing some heartache for the Storm, there are still a few positives for the club in the contract department.
"They are very close to announcing extensions in terms of the contracts with Felise Kaufusi, Joe Stimson, Dale Finucane - which is a really crucial one because both Newcastle and the Wests Tigers made decent plays at trying to get him out of Melbourne," Hoops said.
"We'll be seeing Dale remain at the Storm for another four seasons, and I think that will be announced this week coming.
"Young Christian Welsh as well - I think we'll see him stay at the Storm.
"So as much as Jordan McLean was a massive, massive loss, they have done well to be able to retain all these other players."
